Responsible Play

At Ontario Lotto Station, we believe that lottery games should be played for fun and entertainment. We are committed to providing a safe environment and preventing gambling-related harm. Responsible play is at the core of our operations.

1. Our Commitment

We are dedicated to protecting our players. We provide a range of tools and resources to help you manage your play. Our staff is trained to recognize the signs of problem gambling and to assist players in finding the help they need. We operate in strict accordance with the regulations set forth by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

2. Tips for Safer Play

To ensure your lottery experience remains positive, we recommend following these guidelines:

  • Treat it as entertainment: Never view gambling as a way to make money or pay off debts.
  • Set limits: Decide how much time and money you can afford to spend before you start playing, and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses: Trying to win back lost money usually leads to bigger losses.
  • Balance your life: Ensure that gambling does not interfere with your daily responsibilities, work, or time with family and friends.
  • Don't play when upset: Avoid gambling if you are feeling depressed, angry, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

3. Player Protection Tools

We provide several tools to help you stay in control of your account:

Deposit Limits

You can set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on your account. Once a limit is reached, you will not be able to deposit more funds until the period resets. Decreases to limits take effect immediately, while increases take 24 hours to process.

Time Outs (Cool-Off Period)

If you need a short break, you can request a time out for a period ranging from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During this time, your account will be suspended, and you will not be able to log in or purchase tickets.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel your gambling is becoming a problem, you can voluntarily self-exclude from Ontario Lotto Station. Self-exclusion periods range from 6 months to 5 years. During this time, your account will be closed, you will be removed from our marketing lists, and we will take reasonable steps to prevent you from reopening your account.

4. Signs of Problem Gambling

It is important to recognize the warning signs of problem gambling. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you spend more time or money on gambling than you intended?
  • Do you borrow money or sell possessions to gamble?
  • Do you feel guilty, anxious, or depressed about your gambling?
  • Do you lie to family or friends about how much you gamble?
  • Has gambling caused financial problems or issues in your relationships?
  • Do you feel the need to gamble with larger amounts of money to get the same excitement?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you may be experiencing a gambling problem. We strongly encourage you to seek help.
